Keeping A Safe, Healthy Home

One of the biggest problems in homes can be the presence of mould. The presence of this fungus doesn’t mean your house keeping is substandard, but it is a sign something needs attention.

Mould not only looks horrible, but has far more serious ramifications for those who come into contact with it.

Mould is caused by a build-up of damp and a reduction in air quality. When a person is exposed to mould, especially long-term, it is possible that they may suffer the detrimental effects of this ugly fungus. Complaints such as a coughing, wheezing, eye and throat issues may be evident, though in some cases, it might not be quite so obvious.

Black mould can often be found around window panels and window frames. If left for too long, it is extremely difficult to eradicate and might require the use of chemicals, another no-no for those with delicate health issues, or babies and young children. Research has also indicated that people living in homes with mould are more susceptible to bouts of depression and asthma.

The good news is that if it’s caught early enough it can easily be cleaned and eliminated. The use of mould prevention techniques, such as regularly opening windows or having excellent air flow through your home mean that mould will never be a problem in your home.

No-one should have to live in mouldy conditions, and your brand new home, in Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, Henties Bay, Outjo or any suburb in Windhoek like Auasblick, Avis, Brakwater, Eros, Khomasdal or any other one, simply deserves the best-as do you.
